For many years Kasia Kucemba has enjoyed being a member of the McMaster University Choir, with which she is thrilled to have begun her conducting career.
Having studied with countertenor Richard Cunningham, she performed in her own vocal recital this past March in order to complete her Diploma in Performance.
Currently, Kasia is exploring the opera style with soprano Kinga Mitrowska.
Kasia is extensively involved in the music program as Co-Founder and past Co-President of the McMaster University Music Council, Teaching Assistant for Aural Skills, and past Music and Vocal Director for the McMaster Musical Theatre production of “Footloose”.
Kasia is an active accompanist, as well as piano and voice teacher.
At Our Lady of the Assumption parish she was assistant children’s choir director for six years.
This year she is excited to be teaching music to Kindergarten through grade 8 students at the Hamilton Polish School.
In 2007 Kasia made her debut as soprano soloist with the Grand River Chorus. She is excited to join the chorus again as soprano soloist in Handel’s “The Messiah” this December.
Kasia is also actively involved in the Polish Alliance Youth groups in Hamilton and Canada, having held numerous executive positions.
In May of 2008 she was crowned Miss Polonia Hamilton 2008 and is a proud representative of the Polish Community.
Kasia enthusiastically anticipates pursuing music at the Master’s Degree level.
